Reconstitution in 4 steps: from powder to solution
Dissolving a lyophilised peptide is simple when you go step by step. Here is how to calculate and mix carefully, with our calculator.
Preparation
Work in a clean, tidy space and keep everything ready: the vial of lyophilised peptide, bacteriostatic water, a sterile syringe and alcohol wipes. For research purposes only.
The 4 steps
- 1. Calculate the amount. Use our reconstitution calculator to work out how much bacteriostatic water to add for the desired concentration.
- 2. Let it reach temperature. Let the vial and the water come to room temperature and disinfect both rubber stoppers with an alcohol wipe.
- 3. Add the water slowly. Let the water run down the glass wall, not directly onto the powder. This keeps the peptide as intact as possible.
- 4. Swirl, do not shake. Gently rotate the vial until everything has dissolved. Never shake. Then store the solution refrigerated.
Done
The solution is now ready. Use the calculator to work out which volume corresponds to which amount, so you keep working accurately.
